A Steady Hand

The title of this painting is a little deceiving because I've actually portrayed two steady hands...Buck Brannaman as well as his horse.  This is Buck at one of his cow work clinics thanking his horse for holding steady after he'd roped the calf.  Buck's consistent way of starting and riding a horse results in a steady, reliable mount.

It's a little difficult to see, but I used a metallic gold paint in the background which has a nice subtle sheen depending on the lighting, emphasis on subtle.  It's not overwhelming by any means.  I also continued the painting around the edges of the gallery wrapped canvas, but the painting can be framed if desired.
